Wild About Wings–Learn About Butterflies and Moths

Thursday, June 22 5:30-8:45 p.m. at the Lac qui Parle State Park Headquarters

Butterflies and moths use the beauty of their brilliant colors, phenomenal migrations and dramatically changing life cycles to capture people’s attention. They also make valuable contributions to the ecosystem as pollinators. However, butterflies and moths are facing significant survival challenges due to habitat loss and pesticide use.

Feature speaker Dr. Robin Thomson, Curator of the Insect Collection in the Department of Entomology at the University of Minnesota

Minnesota’s state insect, the Monarch Butterfly, and a unique monitoring program will be highlighted by LqP State Park Staff

Opportunity to explore native planting for butterflies, moths, and other exciting insects
