Women’s Field Day
June 19, 2014 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Glaciers, River & Rocks! Oh My!
A Closer Look at Chippewa County’s Geologic History
FREE Women’s Workshop–Bring a friend!
Women’s Field Day is an event hosted by the Chippewa SWCD/NRCS yearly to involve and educate local women. This year’s guest speaker will be Carrie Jennings, a geologist with the DNR.
Did you know some of the oldest rocks in the world are found here? Did you know Watson sits on an island? Did you know the Minnesota River is a trickle compared to the river that formed this valley?
Join us and guest speaker Dr. Carrie Jennings, glacial geologist with the MN DNR, to learn about our unique surroundings and how the Minnesota River and Chippewa County were formed.
The evening will be a combination of presentations and bus tour stops. Be sure to bring your bug spray, long pants and close-toed, comfortable shoes.
Meet at the Chippewa County Courthouse (basement level).
